Tribe is a three piece band which formed in Los Angeles California. Guitarist Denner Vieira and Drummer Rick Pivetta Set out to Los Angeles from Brazil to break the boundaries of comfort, bringing their music and creativity to the center of western culture.

“When we came to the US, we left the comforts of home behind, knowing that the challenge alone of setting ourselves apart from the thousands of musicians here would be the motivating force that drives us musically” Says Denner.

Jamie Waite, Singer and Bass Player of Tribe, Born in England, Moved to Los Angeles from Auckland New Zealand, in pursuit of musicians he could share his vision with. Jamie explains, “Where better than the heart of the beast? I had played with many musicians in New Zealand and LA, but didn’t quite share the same vision. I found an ad looking for a singer for this band Kaiowas, I heard the music and knew this was right for me.”

Jamie filled the spot for vocals and bass, joining Rick and Denner to complete this powerful trio with a shared vision. Exploring the boundaries of music, the mind and the evolution of conscious awareness. From this collective driving force, they formed, Tribe.

“Our backgrounds are clearly similar and our work ethic is just as intense.” Says Rick.

Its that work ethic that defines Tribe now, as a band that came together with a common cause, to show the world that there is a lot more to where they’re from- and certainly a lot more to where they are headed. Tribe takes pride in being a self sufficient band. Writing, recording and producing all their own music, Filming and creating music videos and even building their own social network and websites.

“The idea of putting our work in other people’s hands, it seems to filter the ideas we as a three are trying to articulate… or maybe were just control freaks” Jamie Laughs.

Tribes influences are from Tool, NIN, The Deftones, Brazilian thrash core metal mavens Sepultura and UK’s MUSE. These bands as well as many other forms of art have helped Tribe define their aggressive hybrid of rock, metal and the progressive sounds so prevalent in music today, and still finding a way to break down the barriers and create a new sound.
